SWIMMING

Come Back To Earth

“In my own way, this feels like living

Some alternate reality

I just need a way out of my head

I'll do anything for a way out

Of my head”

Self Care

“Down below, now I know that the medicine be on-call, yeah

Get the f*** out the way, must be this high to play

It must be nice up above the lights, and what a lovely life that I made, yeah"

CIRCLES

Everybody

"Everybody's gotta live
And everybody's gonna die
Everybody just wanna have a good, good time
I think you know the reason why

Yeah, sometimes the going gets so good
Yeah, but then again, it get pretty rough
Yeah, when I have you in my arms, baby
You know I just can't, I just can't get enough

Everybody gonna try to have a good, good time
I think you know the reason why"

Once a Day

"Once a day, I rise
Once a day, I fall asleep with you
Once a day, I try, but I can't find a single word

Every now and again, baby, I get high

And everybody means something
When they're stuck on your mind
But every now and again, why can't we just be fine?"

Lyrical Analysis

'Come Back to Earth' is a song off of Mac's Album 'Swimming'.

The lyrics in this song reference his drug use. This song takes about him wanting a way out of his head - his head full of depressing thoughts and his emotions that blind him from feeling happy.  To get out of this way Mac uses psychedelics and lean, to see something other than depression and bad thoughts.

Lean is like cough syrup in the way it numbs your body from feeling pain and numb the brain from thinking too fast.

The titled reference when he finally comes back down from his high to the one place he knows will always be here Earth.

'Self Care'  is a song from mac's album 'Swimming'.

The lyrics in the song represent the same 'Come Back to Earth'. Different drugs were talked about in this song, but still the same concept.

Mac's way of Self Care is doing drugs for a creative outlet to create songs and stories that reflect his life.  In the song, he calls the drugs 'medicine' because he's self-medicating as self-care.

'Everybody' is a song off Mac's album 'Circles'.

This song is referencing the line between life and death and also having a good time. The song speaks about how he can't get enough about something (drugs). He talks about when life gets roughs there is one thing he turns to to have a good time.

Once a Day' is a song from Mac album 'Circles' that was released after his death.

The lyrics from this song are set in the past tense or so we thought.

The one thing that fans and producers were most confused about is: is the song about a girl or a drug.

"I fall asleep with you" could be references towards lean or marijuana.

"Why can't we just be fine" meaning why can't we all be sober with an addiction issue and with depression, anxiety, and stress that lead to drugs.

Mac even admits in the song that he gets high... off a specific drug no.
